Sociology looks at low-income groups through structural functionalism or cultural interpretation,or from a perspective of actors.The paper explicates each methodology＇s inspiration for architects designing for lowincome groups.Proper design should approach the whole view of space users＇ life world,draw traditional wisdom from the complete historical spectrum,and understand lowincome groups＇ constructive roles and actions.This kind of design aims at making the space and human growth in a complementary way.
