Quantitatively operating 20 000 t heavy haul trains is the major way to improve the traffic capacity of Shuohuang Railway. In line with the traffic demand of 350 000 000 t by Shuohuang Railway in the future, the paper measures the amount of quantitatively operating 20 000 t heavy haul trains; based on the trial experience of operating 20 000 t heavy haul trains, the paper analyses existing problems in this regard and puts forward corresponding solutions, providing references for Shuohuang Railway to quantitatively operating 20 000 t heavy haul trains.
