Coetzee＇s Waiting for the Barbarians is based on the divergence of the values between the magistrate and the imperial mainstream of the empire, which presents a story transcending national boundaries and times. This paper aims to analyze the femininity of the magistrate in the perspective of the gender theory, and explores the female-like gentleness,empathy and sensitivity of the magistrate under the domination of male personality.
