摘要
作者在《环境工程专业英语》教学中发现学生学习该课程时普遍存在这样一些问题:专业术语难记忆、专业句子难翻译、专业知识不系统、英文摘要不好写,为此作者探索了专题式的教学方法,即专业术语记忆方法、专业句子翻译技巧、专业知识体系构建和论文摘要结构四个方面的专题教学,通过开展这四个专题的教学,学生在有限的课时内完成多篇课文的学习外,还能掌握更多的英文术语,提高阅读和翻译英文文献的能力,构建起英文表达的专业知识体系,更好地完成毕业论文英文摘要的撰写。
Such weaknesses were found in most students during author's teaching of Environmental Engineering Special English:it's hard for them to memorize professional terms,translate the long sentences,keep the systemic knowledge in mind,and write English abstract correctly.Aiming at those weaknesses,Theme-teaching method was tried,that is,topics about how to memorize more professional English terms,how to translate English literatures more correctly and quickly,how to form a knowledge frame of each professional course in English as well as how to write an English abstract were produced.By applying these themes teaching,it's apparently helpful to foster students' abilities of reading and translating English literatures.
