Hills Like White Elephant is a metaphorical world. From the perspective of conceptual metaphor, the source register features of "elephant" and "hill", such as difficulty and pressure, are projected into the target domain, such as the American man and the girl of the novel. It is important to describe people' s nature and highlight the theme of the novel and stress Hemingway' s iceberg principles and spirit aesthetics of human. This paper mainly aims to analyze the psychological world of America' s lost generation by projecting these source domain (elephant and hill) into the psychological activities of the target' s characters to creat some relevant metaphors. The contradiction between the theme and Hemingwayg work reveals the characters' inner world and traits through the different feelings of the American man and the girl, and sublimates the "wild style" aesthetics under the influence of the era of Hemingway.
