“革”字研究

The Research of“Ge”

许慎的《说文解字》按小篆的字形贯穿五百四十部,每部或详或略地记录了该字的字形和字义,使《说文解字》成为中国历史上第一部系统分析字形、考求字源的名著。但囿于时代的局限,许慎对某些字的解释也难免偏颇。本文以"革"字为例,验证"革"的本源为"兽皮治去其毛"而非许慎所言"三十年而道更",并对"革"的字义演变进行了探究。

Xu Shen used Xiaozhuan to record five hundred and forty radicals in Shuo Wen Jie Zi,each department records the meaning of the word in detail or slightly,making the Shuo Wen Jie Zi become the first systematic analysis of form,a great book pursuing the word source in the Chinese history. Because of the limitations of the times,Xu for some words of explanation would be biased. Based on the＂Ge＂as an example in this paper,in order to verify the origin of the＂Ge＂means for＂hide remove hair＂,is not Xu Shen said＂every thirty years of society will change＂,and to explore the evolution of the meaning of the＂Ge＂.
