摘要
Chinese characters learning is one of the top challenges for novice non-Chinese speaking learners.Comparison betweenDCI(Delayed Character Introduction)and ICI(Immediate Character Introduction)is offered.Further,both affirmative and negativediscussion is presented from the perspectives of feasibility,target language environment,pinyin dependence,and compressiveteaching time.DCI is considered more suitable for novice Chinese learners especially adults,and is more a theoretical suggestionthan a practical pedagogy.
