IA Research Overview on the Modern History of Relationship between Hunan Province and Foreign Countries in the 21^(st) Century

二十一世纪以来,近代湖南与外国关系史的研究呈现出新的局面。一方面,研究成果开始增多,研究内容逐渐细化;另一方面,研究领域也得以扩展,涉及经济、外交政治、思想、文化、教育和社会慈善各个方面。当然,新局面的背后,亦存在着诸多严重不足,需要学界进一步努力。

The landscape of modern research on the relationship between Hunan province and foreign countries has undergone great changes. On one hand, there has been an increasing number of researches while the content of them has been gradually specified. On the other hand, the domain of research has also been expanded to that of economy, politics and diplomacy, ideology, culture, education and social charity. As a matter of fact, it cannot be denied that there exist various critical defects in the new situation so that joint efforts of scholars are required in their settlement.
