The horizontal well drilling technology is characterized by increasing the contact area between the production well section and the production layer, reducing production pressure difference and greatly improving the output of single well. The practical application of differ- ent horizontal well drilling technologies is analyzed from the geological characteristics of different oil fields. The effects of horizontal well drilling technologies in different regions are analyzed by considering factors such as the drill bit, wellbore characteristics, and geological characteristics. The comprehensive analysis shows that the optimized horizontal well drilling technology is suitable for the geological environ- ment of Honghe Oilfield and Sulige Gas Field.
