OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of follow-up rehabilitation intervention after total hip arthroplasty in the elderly.METHODS 110 elderly patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty were grouped into control group and observation group according to different nursing methods, 55 cases in each group. The control group was given routine guidance and rehabilitation training after surgery; the observation group was followed up on the basis of nursing care in the control group. Hip function was used to evaluate the hip function, Barthel index rating scale was used to evaluate the ability of daily living, and postoperative complications were recorded.RESULTS The Harris score and Barthel index scores of the two groups were significantly higher than those at discharge after one month, 3 months and 6 months,of intervention, and the Harris score and Barthel index scores were observed in the observation group after one month, 3 months and 6 months. P〈0.05. In the observation group, there was no joint prosthesis detachment and deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities. The complication rate was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P〈0.05). CONCLUSION Follow-up rehabilitation interventions were effective in the care of elderly patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty, which can reduce postoperative complications, improve hip joint function and improve their daily activities.
