商人与文人——明末徽州书画商王越石与鉴藏家的交往

Businessmen and Men of Letters:Inter actions between Art Dealer Wang Yueshi and Connoisseurs of Huizhou in Late Ming Dynasty

明末徽州书画商王越石,活跃于江南书画交易领域,与著名书画鉴藏家李日华、董其昌、汪砢玉、张丑等时相过从,频繁互动,关系密切。王越石及其家族虽是一帮博求刀锥孳孳求利的古董商人,但其眼力过人,书画眼光为人服膺,颇负时誉。书画古董经营商与鉴藏家的博弈过程,营造着艺术市场,提高了鉴藏水准。对具有眼力、经营成功的王越石等书画商人,我们不能动辄以"附庸风雅"等闲视之。

Art dealer Wang Yueshi from Huizhou was an active figure in the realm of art trade in southern Yangtze River of China in late Ming dynasty. He constantly contacted with the literati connoisseurs and collectors such as Li Rihua,Dong Qichang, Wang Keyu,and Zhang Chou etc. and cultivated close relationship with them. Although Wang Yueshi and his family members were sheer profit-seeking antique merchants,he had good taste of art and his appreciation skills were highly praised by the contemporaries. The negotiation between art dealers and literati connoisseurs promoted the prosperity of art market and elevated the appreciation skills. As far as the professional and successful art merchants like Wang Yueshi are concerned, they should not be simply labeled as ＂people with pretentious elegance.＂
