The extraction of keratin from waste rabbit hair by mechanical method,squeezing method,ultrasonic air method,metal salt method,reduction method and oxidation method is introduced.The functions of textile,functional finishing,heavy metal adsorption,cosmetic additives.The application of keratin is reviewed.The article shows that keratin is a natural protein,has good biological affinity,non-toxic and skin-friendly,contains a large number of hydrophilic groups.These characteristics make the application of keratin in fabric finishing,cosmetic additives and spinning filming and other fields showed good prospects.
