What a scholar can contribute is based on what he can leave after his death. Professor Fan Boqun is the person whose writings are regarded as the sources of Chinese modern and contemporary popular literature in the field of modern and contemporary popular literature in China. This paper discusses Professor Fan Boqun's academic ideal, academic transformation and academic promotion, especially his main academic viewpoints on the study of modern and contemporary popular literature in China. The theory of "two wings" and "pluralistic coexistence" are the core concepts of Professor Fan Boqun, and also the two stages of the study of modern Chinese popular literature. Carrying out significant projects with his team is an important embodiment of Professor Fan Boqun's academic research method.
