The great achievement of contemporary American Indian woman writer Louise Erdrich in her novel creation shadows the unique glamour of her poetry,which leads to an academic neglect of her poetry. In fact,poetry writing accompanies Erdrich＇s literary career all along. Compared with novel,poetry represents Erdrich＇s idea of mediation more directly. Meanwhile,in her border writing,poetry creation becomes a process of decolonization to realize the deconstruction of geological border,ambiguity of historical border and hybridity of psychological realm. By so doing,Erdrich ＇s border poetic writing constructs a dynamic and poetic cultural space in which contemporary American Indian＇s life and emotion dwell comfortably.
