In order to cultivate students＇ innovative consciousness, innovative thinking and innovative ability in learning program design, we apply the case teaching method based on CDIO mode to Java teaching in accordance with the standard of CDIO engineering education mode. Practices show that this teaching mode is helpful to arouse students＇ interest in programming and promote students＇ ability in projects development, which means the signifi- cant improvement of teaching quality.
