This paper introduced the circumstances related to the physical and mechanical properties of stratum in the tunnel site for the highway tunnel traversing various kinds of unfavorable stratums along the line.The corresponding counter measures were proposed based on rock burst, weak surrounding rock collapse, water gushing and large deformation of weak surrounding rock.
