Recollection of the "New World"

“新世界”这个名称，在老烟台可谓家喻户晓，因为它曾是伴随烟台走向近代的一座大型综合商场。“新世界”位于福建会馆东侧，临衢街（今胜利路）西侧，北临毓岚街，坐西向东，与福建会馆之间隔着一条南北走向的小巷，名毓岚东胡同。

The ＂New World＂ was known to every household in old Yantai as the name of a large comprehensive shopping mall that went through the modern times with Yantai. When the city was renovated and Shengli Road was broadened in 1991, the over 60-year-old building of the ＂New World＂ was pulled down and the shopping mall was moved to the first to fourth floors of the newly built New World Mansion to the west of the north part of Qingnian Road for operation, still called the ＂New World Shopping Mall.＂
