中国基督教青年会自治问题研究——以1930年特别调查事件为中心

Study on the Autonomy of the Chinese Christian Youth Association——Taking the 1930 Special Investigation Event as the Center

中国基督教青年会自治问题的研究绕不开与青年会北美协会之间的关系,特别是其权势转移问题。因资料等方面的限制,以往的研究对此未予以充分重视。近年来,在海内外学者的探索下,大量与中国青年会有关的英文档案和干事报告、通信材料被发掘出来。本文主要运用这些中英文资料,试图从1920年代中后期中国青年会经济自养、人事自治角度,以1930年特别调查事件为中心,揭示这一时期中美青年会之间关系的真实面相。

Mid and late 1920s was a time when China's Young Men's Christian Association took great strides towards autonomy.However,the Special Survey in 1930 infringed the autonomy right of China's YMCA,which was strongly resisted by David Z.T.Yui,on behalf of the National Committee of Young Men's Christian Association of China.At last,the North American Young Men's Association was forced to compromise.With the support of a team of foreign secretaries,China began to take initiative in the negotiation with the North American Young Men's Association,which marked a significant leap of the autonomy of China's YMCA.
