The short story Brokeback Mountain not only tells homosexual love affairs between two rural Wyoming cowboys, but reflects varying violence and disciplines. Based on Foucault＇s theory on violence and discipline, it could be seen that violence and discipline are imposed on homosexuals in body, discourse and mentality by heterosexuals and homosexuals themselves. The negative effects of violence and discipline indicate the author＇s critical views on those violence and discipline, and expectation to prevent occurrence of violence and construct an equal and harmonious world.
