摘要
文章基于会话分析理论,探讨英语口语课堂中外籍教师身份建构策略后发现:第一,外教共建构了三种身份,即交流者、教授者和学习者。量化分析表明:外教倾向于建构交流者和教授者身份。第二,外教运用不同策略建构不同类型的身份。外教通过参考性问题、学生自选发言建构了交流者身份;通过完全控制话轮、使用过渡词建构了教授者身份;通过部分控制话轮、反复提问建构了学习者身份。研究建议外教在讲授新知识点时,适当穿插师生互动,确保学生掌握新授知识。
Based on conversation analysis,foreign teachers’ identity construction in oral English teaching class is surveyed. It is discovered that foreign teachers construct three types of identity:the communicator,instructor,and learner. Quantitative analysis shows that various strategies are used to develop different type of identity. The identity of communicator is built through asking referential questions and by allowing students’ automatic speech. The identity of instructor is developed by controlling discourse turn-taking and using transitional words. The identity of learner is constructed by partially controlling turn-taking and by repeatedly asking questions. It is suggested that foreign teachers should employ more teacher-student interaction while teaching new knowledge to make sure that students can master the new knowledge.
