摘要
海外华人的子弟如何接受华文教育,是海外华人教育史关注的重要课题。根据英国传教士卢修斯在1820年发表的调查报告《马六甲华人定居者的教育状况》,显示马六甲既有华人自办的私塾学校,又有传教士监管的学校,前者是源,后者是流。说明在1815年前后,华人私塾学校已在马六甲、槟城、新加坡三地点燃星星之火。从1815年前后华人在槟城、在马六甲办私塾学校算起,马来西亚华文教育已经走过200周年波澜壮阔的道路,成为东南亚一道亮丽的风景。
How do Chinese children of overseas Chinese accept Chinese education? It is an important topic of concern for the history of overseas Chinese education, According to the investigation report The Education Status of Chinese Settlers in Malacca by British missionary Lucius published in 1820, Malacca had both private schools and missionary-supervised schools. The former is the source and the latter is the flow. Around 1815, Chinese private schools had already ignited the fire of stars in Malacca, Penang and Singapore. Since 1815, the Chinese in Penang and the private school in Malacca, Malaysian Chinese education has already passed the 200th anniversary of the magnificent road and become a beautiful landscape in Southeast Asia.
