运用文献资料、数理统计、对比研究等方法对伦敦田径世锦赛比赛成绩进行分析,研究认为:本届田径世锦赛整体竞技实力水平较低,世界田坛竞争格局长期三足鼎立的平衡状态已被打破。奖牌区域分布处于失衡态势,欧洲、北美两强争霸,进入相持抗衡阶段,非洲实力有所下滑,亚洲实力大跃进,南美洲、大洋洲实力反弹仍属配角;中国田径延续了2015年世锦赛和2016年奥运会以来的良好势头,再次取得突破。中国争金夺牌的核心力量依然归属于传统优势项目,男女比例严重失衡与中国田径发展方向相悖。项目分布呈现"传统优势项目分布区域扩大、潜优势项目个别提高、弱势项目继续突破"的特征;年龄结构以新为主,老将为辅,层次分明、结构合理。
