文化资本视角下《边城》的厚翻译研究

A Study on “Thick Translation” of Border Town: Cultural Capital Perspective

美国汉学家金介甫翻译的《边城》通过合理运用译者前言、文内阐释和文后注释等厚翻译策略,为读者展现了《边城》独具特色的语言和文化魅力,呈现出显著的厚翻译现象。文章采用法国社会学家布迪厄的文化资本概念对该现象进行审视,发现金介甫拥有的丰富文化资本是其采用厚翻译策略的内在动力和外部保障。

Jeffrey C. Kinkley,a renowned American sinologist,depicted in his translation Border Town a unique dialect and culture scene of western Hunan province in China by employing thick translation strategies such as adding preface,interpretation in the text and endnotes. The paper first analyzes the thick translation phenomenon in the translation from the perspective of cultural capital concept proposed by Pierre Bourdieu,and then finds that the translator＇s rich cultural capital is the inner motivation and external guarantee of his use of thick translation strategies.
