Western Marxist literary criticism is related to the political participation of intellectuals. They turned their attention from political economy to culture,tried to reveal,from the micro political perspective,the deep alienation that capitalist society brought about,and ultimately the path took them to the aesthetic and cultural Utopia,consequently,their political intervention faded.
