Helping College Students to Understand the Concept of Face in the Right Perspective

当前,中国社会获得了长足发展,民众的物质生活水平得到前所未有的提升,这也使得部分先"富起来"的人有了炫富的物质基础,炫富人企图将"人"的价值以"物"的方式标注出来,以炫富的方式获取他人和社会的尊重,这是一种错误的体面观。这种炫富体面的风气也浸入了校园,感染了部分大学生,导致部分大学生陷入了"体面"的误区。高校应该重视当代大学生的体面观的引导,以"德智体美劳"为进路,培育大学生树立正确的体面观。

Thanks to the reform and opening up policy,China has enjoyed substantial development and the living standard of its people has witnessed unprecedented improvement.Some of those who have achieved prosperity before others have developed a bad habit of flaunting their wealth.They tend to judge a person＇s worth according to material possessions and attempts to win respect by showing off their material prosperity.Unfortunately this wrong notion of face has found its way into college campuses and become a negative influence upon some college students.Colleges and universities should be aware of the situation and actively help students to develop correct values and understand the concept of＂face＂in the right perspective.
