Study of Characteristics of Pedestrians' Crossing Behavior in Different Ages at Intersection

交叉口处行人流-车流较为复杂,交通事故频发,为保障行人过街安全,对行人过街行为分析就变得尤为重要,通过观察与实测不同年龄段人群在通过不同交叉口及普通路段时的步速、步幅,得出不同年龄段人群的过街行为特征与速度特性,且与行人路侧行为进行对比;发现中青年人过街速度最快,但违规行为最多,而老年人过街速度最慢,但违规行为最少,并且行人过街速度比路侧行走速度更快。从而对交通设施建设和行人针对性安全教育等提供重要的参考建议,保障行人过街安全。

The traffic flow at intersections is complex and traffic accidents occur frequently. Analysis of pedestrian crossing behavior become more important in order to improve street crossing security for pedestrians. Observing and measuring the pedestrians’ speed and pace in different ages and sexes through different intersections and ordinary road sections for the different street crossing behavior characteristics and speed characteristics which compared with the roadside walking behavior of the pedestrian. We found that the young people are the fastest, but the most violations, while the elderly are the slowest, but the least violations, and pedestrian crossing speed is faster than the roadside walking speed. So as to provide important reference suggestions for the construction of transport facilities and targeted safety education for pedestrians, ensuring the safety of pedestrian crossings.
