常建华教授于2017年主编的《中国日常生活史读本》,是日常生活史研究最新的代表性著作。全书以日常生活为中心,内容涵盖从皇室到平民生活中的生育、交往、休闲、消费等诸多方面;在关注物质文化、社会性别、科技、医疗、身体、艺术诸领域等具体事务的同时,并联系宏观的历史进程,对社会变迁与日常生活互动的历史展开多层次的探讨,揭示出中国传统日常生活实态的多种面向。此外,作为一本典型的日常生活史研究作品,该著至少在研究主题多元、注重问题意识、扩大史料来源三个方面,对正在发展中的中国日常生活史研究具有积极的借鉴意义。
