日裔英籍作家石黑一雄的《无可慰藉》突破过往只对某一特殊群体家庭伦理困境的关注,而是将其放置到了整个社会复杂背景下,通过对小说中一个个陷于伦理困境的家庭故事的书写,描绘了一幅亲情纽带式微、家园意识淡薄、夫妻关系冷漠扭曲的现代社会荒原,体现了作家对现代社会人类整体生存困境的深层思考.

The Unconsoled , written by Kazuo Ishiguro who is a Japanese American writer, breaks through the concern of a particular group’s family ethical dilemma and puts it under the complex background of the whole society. Through the writing of each story which is trapped in family ethical dilemma, the novel depicts a modern social wasteland with weak family ties, weak sense of home and indifference and distortion of husband and wife relations, which reflects the deep thinking of the writer on the overall predicament of human existence in modern society.
