《人民日报》和《纽约时报》南海仲裁案报道中的中美官方转述言语对比分析

A contrastive analysis of the reported speech on South China Sea arbitration of Sino-American officials in People's Daily and New York Times

转述言语在新闻报道中可以有效地增强报道的客观性和可信性,然而报道者对转述形式、转述动词和消息来源的选择往往会体现其对所报道事件的立场和态度。对于菲律宾单方面发起的"南海仲裁案",《人民日报》和《纽约时报》都进行了大量报道,本文通过对其转述形式和消息来源的定量和定性分析表明了两份报纸在转述中美双方有关南海仲裁案的官方话语中的相似点和差异之处。

The use of reported speech in news reports may effectively enhance the objectivity and reliability of the reports.However,the choice of reporting modes,reporting verbs and news sources is bound to reflect the reporters＇ stand and attitudes towards the event reported. People＇s Daily and New York Times reported extensively on the South China Sea Arbitration unilaterally filed by The Philippines. Through a comparative and contrastive analysis of those reports,the paper is able to show some of the major similarities and differences between these two newspapers in their reports of Chinese and American official speech.
