Feminism and traumatic narrative are overt features in Shanghai Girls. In the first person retrospective point of view and Chi- nese American women's voices, Lisa See tells a story of two Chinese immigrant sisters who suffered from a series of gender, war, family, culture and race traumatic events. This paper intends to interpret the relationship of voice and trauma from the perspectives of feminist narratology and traumatic narrative. It draws three temporary conclusions. There appears a close relation between voice and trauma. Perspectives play irreplaceable roles in traumatic narrative and convey narrators' ethic stances. Traumatic narrative is successfully employed in Shanghai Girls. It not only displays See's concern about Chinese American women, but offers a new interpretive respect for the study of contemporary Chinese American literature as well.
