东周亚腰形铜盒初探

A Preliminary Examination of the Gourd-shaped Bronze Boxes of the Eastern Zhou Period

亚腰形铜盒是东周时期比较少见的青铜器,形制独特,器形微小。目前发现的亚腰形铜盒,年代集中在春秋中晚期至战国初期,主要出土于南方吴越文化分布区,应属吴越文化系统青铜器。根据出土位置、器物组合及器内所盛放之物,可以推测亚腰形铜盒是放置花椒等香料的香盒。

Gourd-shaped bronze box is a rare type of bronzes seen in the Eastern Zhou Period; its shape is unique and size is small. The dates of the gourd-shaped bronze boxes found to date are concentrated from the mid and late Spring-and-Autumn to the early Warring-States Periods and the main distribution areas are the zone of the Wu-Yue Culture in southern China, therefore they would belong to the bronzes of the Wu- Yue Cultural System. Referring to their unearthing locations, the artifact assemblages to which they belong and the objects contained in them, the gourd-shaped bronze boxes are estimated to be the perfume box for containing peppercorn or other perfumes.
