关于高校外语教师发展的若干思考

Some thoughts on university foreign language faculty development

我国高校外语教师人数众多,但其专业发展、教学发展、个人发展和组织发展不尽如人意。本文考察高校外语教师发展现状,分析存在的问题,提出改进建议。文章指出必须抓住教师这一关键要素,培养高素质外语教师队伍,以完成建设外语教育强国的使命。

China has a large number of university foreign language teachers, and their professional, instructional, personal and organizational development is far from satisfactory. This paper examines the current situation of foreign language faculty development, analyses existing problems and proposes possible ways of improving the situation. It is argued that teachers play a crucial role, and high-calibre faculty is needed to develop strong foreign language education in China.
