河西汉塞所出简牍文书,反映出汉代塞防修筑的三种形式:以薪材作治的僵落、以土墼砌成的墙垣以及挖掘而成的壕堑。汉简记载了这三种塞防修筑的地理因素、每种塞防的具体形制以及使用人工的情况,是汉塞修筑的原始档案,对于今日认识汉长城具有重要价值。

Han Bamboo Slips unearthed in Hexi reflects three types of frontier fortress in the Han Dynasty, that is, firewood fortress, mffired brick wall and trench. It records the geographical factors, definite structures and states of using the manual labor in the course of building the three kinds of frontier fortress. It is the raw file of Han frontier fortress and it is of great value to know the Great Wall.
