The Generation, Dissemination, Identification and Control of Misinformation ——A Review of Existing Studies

信息在促进社会进步的同时也带来了负面影响,本文关注的错误信息广泛传播就是负面影响之一。"misinformation"一词,直译为"错误信息",与惯常使用的"谣言"、"流言"内涵不同。本文从定义、产生、影响、传播、识别与控制等多方面,对当前学界关于这一主题的研究情况进行了评述,认为在信息社会,提高信息质量、构建健康的信息环境任重道远,需要学术界、媒体、政府、公众等多方共同努力。

Information, while promoting social progress, also brings about negative effects. The widespread of misinformation concerned in this paper is one of the negative effects. The word ＂misinformation＂, literally translated as ＂false information＂, is not the same as the commonly used ＂rumor＂ or ＂gossip＂. This paper reviews the current academic research on this topic f^om the aspects of defmition, generation, influence, dissemination, identification and control. In an information society, there is a long way to go in improving the quality of information and building a healthy information environment. It requires the joint efforts of academia, media, government and the public.
