The development of road assistant emergency call terminal with basic functions for passenger cars is introduced. As a part of the road assistant emergency call service system, this vehicle terminal mainly includes the Global Navigation Satellite System （ GNSS ） receiver module, the cellular mobile communication module and the independent backup power supply module. Its main function is to locate the accident and establish voice communication between drivers including passengers and Public-safety Answering Point （ PSAP ） . The emergency call function can be triggered automatically or manually by driver or passengers when a serious accident happened.
