CAS scientists have developed a new endoscopicsystem elegantly combining photoacoustic andultrasonic imaging for gastrointestinal (GI)tract, which has an enormous potential of detectingtumors at the early stage and is still a big challenge forconventional endoscopes. With a lull field-of-view imaging capability, thissystem can provide both high-resolution morphologicaland high-sensitive functional information. Additionally, the size of system is totally compact to fit in theinstrumental channel, which makes it easier to beapplied to clinical diagnosis in the near future.
