摘要
沙博理撰写的两部英文自传具有清晰的意向性,向英语读者讲述个人、家庭、职业的同时,描述亲历中国当代政治历史和国际局势的变化,其间多有无对应原文本的翻译痕迹,且不乏翻译首创甚至独创。本文探讨沙博理自传中的中国当代政治历史关键词翻译,以"三年困难时期"为例,尝试性归纳沙博理文化自译中的文化本位观和适度变通性原则。
The two autobiographies written by Sidney Shapiro is a reader-intended act, and depict Shapiro＇s life, family and career, and the contemporary Chinese history together with the change of global stage that Shapiro has witnessed. A notable number of cultural translations without fixed source text are interspersed in the texts, which can be regarded as original or even unique renderings. This paper explores the translations of political and historical terms of contemporary China in the autobiographies, taking ＂three hard years＂ for example, and investigates Shapiro＇s strong awareness of conforming to Chinese culture-based standard and moderate flexibility.
