Objective “Drug Research and Evaluation” is a basic course which covers a wide range of contents associated with drug development. The testing effect is the fnding that long-term memory is increased when some of the learning period is devoted to retrieving the to-be-remembered information through testing with proper feedback. This study is design to explore the effect of testing effect on the teaching effect of drug research and evaluation. Methods The subjects of this study were students of pharmacy major and biotechnology major from Second Military Medical University. 15 members of biotechnology major were selected as the research objects. 15 members of pharmacy major were given the traditional teaching method. In the completion of assessment, theoretical level and questionnaire were used to evaluate the teaching effect of the two groups. Results In the experimental group, the theoretical score was (85.4±7.4) points and the satisfaction of the students were better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P 〈 0.05). Conclusion The application of testing effect in drug research and evaluation will help students master and apply the knowledge, which guarantees a satisfactory teaching effect.
