特朗普政府"印太战略"本质上是奥巴马政府亚太"再平衡"战略的延续,但它的指向更加明确,意在牵制中国,拓展美国的同盟体系,构建一个针对中国的美日澳印四方非正式联盟。"印太战略"突出印度的重要性,加强美印防务合作。但是,美、日、澳三国同中国的经济关系非常密切,美印在一些关键问题上存在分歧,特朗普政府高官更换频繁等,这些因素都会制约"印太战略"的实施效果。

As a continuation of the Rebalancing Strategy of the Obama administration,the Trump administration's Indo-Pacific Strategy is more explicit in its focus on balancing China as it intends to expand the U.S.alliance system and build an informal U.S.-Japan-Australia-India quadrilateral coalition targeted on China.It also emphasizes the role of India and the enhancement of U.S.-India defense ties.However,the successful implementation of the strategy will be constrained by factors such as the close economic ties between China and the United States,Japan and Australia,the divergence between the United States and India on some key issues,and the frequent turnover of high-ranking officials in the Trump administration.
