This article summarizes the common experience of the successful development of bay area indus-tries through the feature analysis on industrial structure distribution and evolutionary path of the world ＇s three largest bay areas-New York Bay Area,San Francisco Bay Area and Tokyo Bay Area.It elaborates on the in-spirational experience and reference values of the current world-class bay areas in the aspects of science-technology finance,headquarter economy,port economy,industry upgrading and restructuring and their coor-dination and interaction that Shenzhen may draw on in its future economic development.
