Intelligent high voltage switchgear has become an indispensable part of smart grid, and it has been applied more and more widely. This paper introduced main applications of power electronics in the intelligent high voltage switch equipment, which was used in the power module of the monitoring control unit, the new operating mechanism and the new open breaking technology.
