再论医学专业精神的价值

Discussion on the Value of Medical Professionalism

医学专业精神是学界十年前就提出的概念,并引起学者对该问题的关注与讨论。但是,随着医疗卫生事业的发展,医学专业精神的价值呈现日渐式微,主要表现为医患之间的不信任引发的关系紧张。究其原因,医学价值反思仅囿于较低层面的职业性价值,以致专业精神彰显的人本价值被技术至上的功利主义思想所遮蔽。基于此,比照专业精神与职业精神之间的区别就成了言说医学专业精神的逻辑起点,理清专业精神对职业的价值塑造以及其对人的德性完善,才能窥探专业精神彰显更高层面的价值,并对医疗实践中的现实问题进行回应。

Medical professionalism is a concept proposed ten years ago, which aroused many concerns and discussions among the scholars. However, the value of medical professionalism is neglected gradually because of the development of the medical and health services and this is easily found in the tension relationship because of the distrust between doctors and patients. The root lies in the fact that the reflection of medical science is usually restricted in the lower level of vocational value. This leads to the neglection of the humanistic value which reflected by the professionalism because of the popu!arity of the utilitarianism such as priority of technology. Thus, the differences between professionalism and vocational spirit should be the logic base for the discussion of development of medical professionalism. Only if we get clear understanding about the influence of professionalism on the shaping of the vocational value and the perfection of the human morality can we throw a new light on the higher value reflected by the professionalism and respond well to the realistic problems in medical practice.
