Japan's Economic Infiltration to the Northeast of China in late Qing Dynasty——Focusing on Debt Disputes between Dongshenghe and Yokohama Specie Bank of Japan

清末营口巨商东盛和倒闭亏欠中外债务近五百万两,震动营埠,波累全国。其中与日本横滨正金银行的债务纠纷尤其受到清政府的重视,债案通过户部银行、营口商会以及日本领事等多方博弈,最终得以顺利解决。通过探析清末东盛和倒闭的原因、两者债务纠纷的调处与解决,可以反映出日俄战争后日本不断向东北经济渗透,企图利用横滨正金银行等金融机构排挤我国东北民族工商业,进而控制东北金融与经济的野心。

Yingkou Dongshenghe went bankrupt and owed debts to China and foreign firms five million Liang in Late Qing Dynasty, shocking Yingkou and affecting even the whole country. The debt dispute with the Yokohama Specie Bank of Japan was especially valued by the Qing government. The debt case was solved through multiple parties involving the Bank of the Ministry of Revenue, the Yingkou Chamber of Commerce and the Japanese Consulate. Through the analysis of the reasons for the collapse of the Dongshenghe in the late Qing Dynasty and the settlement of the debt disputes between Dongshenghe and Yokohama Specie Bank, it reflects Japan＇ s economic infiltration to the Northeast of China after Russo-Japanese War, attempting to squeeze out national industrial and commercial business, and holding the ambition to control the finance and economy of the Northeast of China.
