慢性前列腺炎是中老年男性的常见多发病证,现慢性前列腺炎动物模型主要是病理模型,且以西医的诊断指标为主,兼顾中医证型特点。在基于对慢性前列腺炎中西医临床病证特点分析的基础上,经大量动物实验验证,形成了慢性前列腺炎动物模型规范（草案）。
