加工深度对二语代词消解的影响

The Influence of Processing Depth on the Resolution of English Ambiguous Pronouns by Chinese EFL Learners

本文采用移动窗口的累积范式,考察加工深度对中国学习者英语代词加工的影响。结果发现,在浅层加工中,歧义代词条件下的阅读时间与无歧义代词条件下的阅读时间不存在显著差异,两种条件下阅读句子后回答问题的准确率也无显著差异;而在深度加工中,两种条件下的阅读时间存在显著差异,无歧义代词指代主语和无歧义代词指代宾语间存在显著差异,歧义代词更以压倒性优势选择主句主语为先行语。本文从代词消解的两个阶段模型和中心理论两个视角对研究结果进行了解释。

A self-paced reading experiment was conducted to examine how English pronouns are resolved under the conditions that encourage shallow processing and deep processing by Chinese EFL learnersl The results indicate that sentences containing ambiguous pronouns were processed at the same speed as those containing unambiguous pronouns under the shallow processing condition, whereas sentences containing ambiguous pronouns were processed more slowly than those containing unambiguous pronouns under the deep processing condition. Furthermore, no significant difference was found in the accuracy of sentence comprehension under the shallow processing condition, whether the experimental sentences contained ambiguous or unambiguous pronouns, By contrast, under the deep processing condition, ambiguous pronouns were preferentially interpreted as taking the subjects of the main clauses as their antecedent. These results were discussed under the two-stage model and Centering Theory.
