A Brief Review of Versions of Baojuan in Kaifeng Library

开封图书馆藏宝卷版本共9种,包括8种刻本和1种石印本,皆刊于清光绪至宣统年间,其中有6种版本未被《中国宝卷总目》著录。整理研究中原地区遗存的宝卷,有助于中国民间信仰、民间宗教和民间风俗研究,为研究中原文化与江南文化的交融提供重要的文献支撑。

There are 9 versions of Baojuan（an account of tales by the monks） including 8 block-printed editions and 1 lithographed edition in Kaifeng library. They were published in the late Qing Dynasty. Among them, there were 6 versions have not catalogued by The Index of Chinese Baojuan. All these versions of Baojuan provides valuable historical data and materials for studying Chinese folk belief, religion and customs as well as the communication between Central culture and South culture.
