It is essential that the air defense basement is rationally designed and it serves for budgeted constructions. More importantly,reliable wartime usages,human lives and property safety are also crucial features to be involved in designs and construction of civil air defenses. This paper takes several engineering projects as examples. It expounds the major elements of architectural design of civil defense construction in basement of residential district. At the end of the paper,the author concludes the problems and resolution for practices in designs.
