A Brief Analysis on Crucial Periods of Strategic Opportunities under the Perspective of China-United States Relations

把握重要战略机遇期,需要正确理解国际环境和大国关系的演变及其实质。2008年爆发全球金融危机以后,中美两国关系中竞争与合作的协调困境似乎在不断加重,这种两重性及协调困境势必会给两国关系发展带来一定的波动和挑战。当前,世界已经进入大发展大变革大调整的新时期,全人类面临着许多共同挑战。在今后相当一个时期,中美两国最适合、最现实的相处方式是非零和博弈的"共同进化"。新时代的中国特色社会主义道路仍处于重要战略机遇期,中国需要继续保持战略定力,在国际竞争与合作中努力创造战略机遇。

Grasping the crucial periods of strategic opportunities requires the correct understanding of the evolution of international environment and great power relations as well as their essence. Since the outbreak of global financial crisis in 2008,the predicament of coordination between competition and cooperation in China-United States relations seems to be increasingly serious,which will inevitably result in certain turbulence and challenge to the development of two powers＇ relations. Currently,the world has already entered a brand-new epoch of tremendous development,reform and adjustment while mankind is facing many mutual challenges. Hence,for a certain period of time in the future,the most suitable and realistic way for China-United States relations is the＂joint evolution＂with the non-zero-sum game approach. In the new era,the road to socialism with Chinese characteristics is still in its crucial period of strategic opportunities. China needs to maintain its strategic willpower to create strategic opportunities in the global competition and cooperation.
