On Historical Contributions of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone to China's Reform and Opening up

作为最典型、最成功的经济特区,深圳为中国社会的制度变迁作出了五大历史性贡献:探索了中国社会主义市场经济体制;探索了一条独具中国特色的发展道路,即中国道路;体现了特区人敢闯、创新的特区精神;以创新实践推动经济增长方式的转变;印证了人的自由发展是社会发展的真正内容与根本目标。经济特区是中国社会制度变迁路径的探索者,是社会主义市场经济体系营建的先行者,是中国道路的一个不可或缺的组成部分,在新的历史时期还将继续担负着深化改革的新使命。

As the most typical and successful special economic zone in China, Shenzhen has made 5 historic contributions to the institutional changes of Chinese society： it explored the Chinese socialist market economic system; it explored a development path with Chinese characteristics, namely the Chinese road; it reflected the special spirit of the special zone, namely daring to be the first and innovation; it promoted the transformation of economic growth mode through innovative practice; it has proved that the free development of human beings is the real content and fundamental goal of social development. The special economic zone is an explorer of the so- cial system change in China, a pioneer in the construction of a socialist market economic system, and an indis- pensable component of the Chinese road. In the new historical period, it will continue to shoulder the new mis- sion of deepening refoml.
