Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are small, cationic and amphipathic peptides that comprise a section of the innate immune system. They have strong bactericidal and immunomodulatory activities and have shown special advantages in anti-tuberculosis. Due to its difference with traditional anti- tuberculosis drugs, it may be a new way for treatment of tuberculosis. This article reviews the research progress of antimicrobial peptides and infection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
